 2009 POLAR EXPRESS PACKAGES The Farm by the River B&B with Stables offers a (2 night stays available w/ tickets to the event for last weekend in Nov. and first 3 weekends of Dec.)  Join us aboard The Polar Express, a magical journey to the North Pole. This truly unique adventure departs this December from North Conway and heads to the North Pole. The train is full of children and adults, dressed in their pajamas, about to live the experience of the little boy in The Polar Express. The story focuses on a little boy who has been told by his friends that there is no Santa Claus. Unwilling to believe this, he lies awake in his bed on Christmas Eve, waiting for the sound of Santa's sleigh. Instead, he hears the hissing steam and squeaking metal of the Polar Express as it stops outside his window, ready to take him and other children to the North Pole. This experience includes a wonderful evening train ride, a sea of elves, and of course, Santa himself. This event is greatly enhanced and brought to life with the collective efforts of many volunteers, all dressed in appropriate outfits, along with an extremely dedicated staff. July 11th - Newton's Revenge-This Hill climb will be contested on exactly the same course as the historic Mt Washington Auto Road Bicycle Hill Climb – the toughest Hill climb in the world. This addition is in response to the overwhelming popularity of the MWARBH and this year will benefit the Mt. Washington Observatory and other non-profit organizations. August 8 - 148th Birthday of Mt. Washington Auto Road Come join us in celebrating the 148th birthday of the Mt. Washington Auto Road, the oldest man-made attraction in America. Vintage horse drawn and automotive stages, which have operated for the past 140+ years, will be on display. Don't miss this opportunity to be involved in this part of New Hampshire's history. Vehicles with a "This Car Climbed Mt. Washington" sticker attached prior to arrival will receive free passage up the Mt. Washington Auto Road.

September 11, 12, 13 - 34th Annual Mud Bowl at Hog Coliseum
next to the North Conway Community Center Playground. For over 30 years Mud Bowl, a double elimination touch football tournament played in mud, has been raising money for several charities. The theme this year is Creature Muddy Feature. Football games begin on Friday and run through the weekend with the final game Sunday afternoon. The price for the three day ticket is $10, a day pass is $5 per person 6 years and older, the family day pass is $15 for two adults and children under 13, children age 5 and under are free. The $10 three day ticket automatically enters you into a $500 drawing for Saturday & Sunday. Don't miss the Tournament of Mud Parade on Saturday in downtown North Conway at 10:30 AM. The fun continues after the parade with games for children near the playground. Mud Bowl fans are encouraged to join the festivities at Tuckerman's Saturday evening.  September 19, 20- Rail Fans Weekend, Conway Scenic RR

OCTOBER:

Enjoy fall foliage Victorian carriage  or group wagon rides at the public stables at the Farm By the River. Last week of Sept. and the first three weeks of Oct. is generally the fall foliage season. The weather may vary a bit from year to year. stables

Oct. 4-11- Fryeburg Fair, Fryeburg, Me only 20 minutes from theFarm by the River -one of the largest, oldest traditional fair.

Ghosts and Goblins Tour Oct 30, 31 Trick and Treat- Tour 9 inns  on the 25th and sample Halloween treat and compete for 100s of dollars and prizes and join the costume competition.  Stay two nights at the Farm by the River B and B tickets are free. Open to the public tickets $15 each. Over $400 worth of prizes with this event. See our packages

Oct. 23-31-- Halloween Costume and Cinderella Carriage Ride- Farm by the River  Stables - Come for a  Private Carriage Ride in our White Victorian carriage and children in costumes go free .  BONUS BONUS BONUS -kids or adults who ride the carriage in Cinderella themed costumes have a chance to enter a contest with the prize a 1st prize of $50,  $25 for 2nd  prize gift certificate to be used at the stables or inn (some black out dates and restriction apply) . The winners and some participants will be posted on the internet.

Oct.   16-18 and 23-25 - Pumpkin Patch Express A train ride from Conway Scenic Railroad, North Conway.

NOVEMBER:

Victorian carriage  and wagon rides as well as horseback riding are offered at the Farm by the River to inn guests and the general public.
